Shannon has her Masters degree in speech communication and a BA in Speech and English Education. She has been the director of Connection Institute with LifeChoices Medical Clinic in Joplin for 7 years. Here, she uses her unique talents and insight to train presenters to go in to local schools to teach Adolescent Sexual Health through LifeChoices’ sex education program, Virtuous Reality: Love Education™, as well as to consult with other program directors, nationwide.
Shannon and her husband, Dr. Karl Wendt, a marriage and family therapist have been married for 30 years and have two perfect daughters, Katie 25, and Sammy 20. Karl and Shannon frequently speak for seminars, conferences, youth rallies and civic agencies on such topics as marriage, parenting, dating, STIs, love vs. infatuation, and stress.
Shannon is also an adjunct instructor in communication at Missouri Southern State University and Ozark Christian College.
