Empower

We empower students to make healthy choices about life, love, sex and relationships by connecting them to medically-accurate information, community resources, safe adults, as well as their families and good friends.

Encourage

We encourage honest conversation between parents and their children by educating and motivating families to make healthy decisions concerning dating relationships, self-esteem and sex.

Inform & Support

We inform and support preteens, teenagers, and young adults as they face the often confusing issue of sexual health through our 3 school programs that are reaching over 10,000 students a year.

Our Programs

Together, Project ID and Compass, provide relevant, creative, and impactful sexual health facts.

Project ID is a 5-day, pre-teen empowerment and critical thinking skills program for 5th and 6th grade students created as a “prologue” to our Compass program. Our curricula utilizes interactive lessons, role-playing exercises, eye and brain catching visuals, stories, group activities and games, and conversations with parents and trusted adults through workbooks and is medically accurate, culturally relevant, and age-appropriate.

Compass is a value-neutral, medically accurate, age appropriate, 10-day teen sexual health program reaching almost 8,000 students each year in 7th, 8th, and 9th grade. Students are taught by trained community educators who bring both a passion for students and an in-depth knowledge of relationships and human sexuality into the classroom.

Reviews

“I have so enjoyed all the presenters over the years. It is a great program for the kids, great information, very timely and relevant. We will never know how many lives have been or will be affected by this class. Keep it going. Thanks for all your help and service to our students.” Gayle Daniels, Joplin School District

“Wow! Your organization is a class act. You teach in an effective way to meet the needs and wants of students, parents, and educators.” Tiffany Stringer, Carthage School District

“We have been having Life Choices come to Baxter Middle School for several years now.  The teachers and curriculum just keep getting better every year.  The age appropriate content is a must for our students to hear in a world where the idea of sex is very distorted.  As a parent and a teacher, I am impressed with not only the content, but the approach and personal stories that are shared to make an impact on our kids.  Parents are not, as a general rule, talking to their kids about relationships because it is simply an uncomfortable subject.  So, to have this organization come in and present this difficult subject in a factual, interesting and fun way, is such a benefit to our youth.  Thank you to those who create this program, teach it, believe in and support it!  Both my daughters have heard the Life Choices middle school program and still today we discuss things like the ladder of intimacy and setting boundaries so that they won’t get hurt and their goals in life can be met.  As long as I’m teaching, I will promote the implementation of this program in every middle school that I come in contact with.  Thanks again for all you do and caring about the generations that follow.”
Stephanie Dewey, Baxter Springs School District
